Allie Pristas
Forged in star dust and delicate childlike imagination, Allie paints and illustrates illusions of dreams— reflections of memories from this world and beyond. From sunshine-soaked soft & soulful sugary smiles to pictoral prisms of poetry refracted from the shadow spaces in the heart, Allie hopes to capture the light and the dark in a way that renders her soul and her spirit an open book, sharing her heart and her visions with the world.
Living in DC as one of the few true born natives, Allie loves this city for its undeniable beauty. Before she landed back in our nation’s capitol, she began growing her roots as in artist graduating Cum Laude from Radford in 2010 with a BFA in Graphic Design.
From there she cozied herself up in Blacksburg, VA, working as a content developer for Verizon smartphones at Modea. She mastered product photography while learning the ins and outs of Adobe Flash, and how quickly relevancy can change in today's market. Despite living out her wildest agency dreams of hard fast deadlines and strict corporate brand compliance, Allie eventually went in search of a more creative outlet for her passions. She moved to Asheville, NC and freelanced for performance and music artists. Success was on her side as she carved a niche for herself selling illustrated posters for music festivals and events. Eventually she began live painting at music events, touring the country with a roving art gallery, and even made it on the artist billing for a few festivals.
The excitement of the city was calling her name so she dusted off the glitter and traded in her bare feet and bluegrass to return to the concrete jungle. Allie is currently a Creative Director and Art Director at VIVA Creative in Rockville, MD. A jill of all trades, she finds herself designing stage concepts, conference branding, AR + VR experiences, websites, mobile apps, signage, presentations and even custom art installations, as well as traveling the world to work as an on-site graphics operator.
Allie believes there is no idea or dream too big and no tough day that can’t be tackled with a healthy flow of coffee and an unbridled zest for kicking the day’s ass.
And she definitely still wears glitter. ✨
